Youth Care Counselor (Full Time: Los Angeles, Eagle Rock, Carson, Mission Hills & Van Nuys)

Youth Care Counselors supervise, protect and transport residents, serve as role models and mentors, and provide for the well-being and development of our adolescents. Youth Care Counselors work with Social Workers and Supervisors in monitoring resident progress, and participate in-group and multi-family group therapy.

High School Diploma or GED required. Must be able to work evenings and weekends. Clean DMV. BA/BS in related field or experience with youth preferred.

Recreation Aide (Full Time: Los Angeles)

The Recreation Aide, under the supervision of the Recreation Supervisor, is in charge of creating and leading therapeutic and recreation groups. Coordinate & supervise athletic & recreational activities. Assist in planning and implementing of recreational programs

Substance Abuse Counselor (Full Time: Los Angeles)

As a member of the Residential Program’s treatment team, the Substance Abuse Counselor is an important agent in setting the tone, direction, and priorities of the residents’ treatment plans. The Substance Abuse Counselor works with the Youth Care Counselors and Social Worker in monitoring the overall progress of the resident, and working on any issues related to prior substance abuse, as well as preventative drug education.

High School Diploma/GED. CADAC or 5+ years experience. Bilingual Spanish.


Must be able to work evenings and weekends. Clean DMV. BA/BS in related field or experience with youth preferred.

Maintenance (Full Time: Highland Park)

General facilities and grounds maintenance, including, but not limited to basic plumbing, carpentry, electrical, and other handyman functions

Supervise at-risk teens in vocational training

Campus Dorm Therapist (Full Time: Los Angeles)

The Therapist possess and implements a basic knowledge and educational background applicable to work with individuals, groups, other disciplines and community systems within as well as outside the agency.

Optimist residential Therapist conducts individual therapy with residents as well as family and group sessions. In conjunction with the entiretreatment team, Therapist formulates and implements an overall treatment plan for each resident, consult with child care staff regarding resident progress, conduct evaluations and treatment reports, and other clinical duties.

MSW or MFT license eligible

Community Mental Health Therapist (Full Time: Los Angeles & Palmdale)

Provide in-home clinical services to local at-risk teens and their families & complete required paperwork

MSW or MFT & registered with the BBS/Licensed. Supervised hours available. Must have car, good DMV record & willing to travel to clients’ homes. Bilingual Spanish/English preferred.

Supervisor of Specialized Mental Health Programs (Full Time: Los Angeles)

Responsible for clinical supervision of the Mental Health Program(s) therapist in all four specialized programs, incorporating individual and group supervision as required by both Optimist Youth Homes and guidelines set by the Board of Behavioral Sciences (BBS). Oversee daily operation(s) of Full Service Partnership (FSP), Aftercare, Transitional Housing and Juvenile Hall (Sylmar) Mental Health Services.

Possess a current and active LCSW or MFT license. Active registration through the Board of Behavioral Science Examiners (BBSE) and in good standing. Clear and clean history with the BBS. Computer literacy.
