The non-public school program, also known as Optimist High School is located
on our main campus. We provide special educational services to students residing
in the campus dorms, our community group homes, the transitional day
treatment program, as well as to a limited number of needy community students
referred to us by the Los Angeles Unified School District (LAUSD), and other
local school districts.

Student - teacher ratios of one adult for every four students allow for individualized
attention and accelerated learning for the students. It is not uncommon for
students to make up as many as three grades in twelve months of school
attendance in our program. In addition to academic instruction students benefit
from a physical education program component, vocational programming, and
counseling.

As a transitional step back into the community, many of our students who
progress well are dually enrolled in our school and Eagle Rock High School.

Optimist High School is state certified and graduates earn a both legitimate
diploma from our school as well as one from their local school district.

Our non-public school is so well respected that our Director of Education has
been asked to consult with more than one dozen other agencies in California
towards establishing similar programs at their institutions.
