In partnership with the Los Angeles County Department of Mental Health, OYHFS
residential clients receive individual, group and multi-family group therapy with the
goal of improving self-esteem, adjustment issues, family relations and related topics.
Other special modalities, including art, music and movement therapy offer accelerated
help for anger management, conflict resolution, and dealing with frustration and peer
pressure. Program graduates and their families receive follow-up after-care services.

Children placed in our certified foster homes receive mental health, case man-
agement and medication support services from trained professionals.

In addition our Community Mental Health program provides similar services to young
people and their families who are not associated with any of our other programs.
Along with our Parent Education program, nationally known as The Parent Project,
these services are provided as an attempt to avoid the need for out of home
placement of youngsters. Community Mental Health Clinics are located in Eagle
Rock, Long Beach, and Palmdale.
