Optimist Youth Homes & Family Services provides out-of-home care through several types of residential treatment and foster family placement as well as community-based treatment programs that vary in intensity according to the needs of the child and family.
These include residential placement in a large campus atmosphere, on a smaller campus, in community-based six-bed homes, placement and follow-up care in certified resource family homes and adoption services.
Mental health services are offered to clients in our Residential and Resource Family programs, in schools, in homes, and in the community-at-large. Educational programs are provided through our own charter high school or through enrollment in other schools in the community, including non-public schools according to need. We are a full-service, nationally accredited agency.

Pacific Lodge Youth Services was acquired by Optimist Youth Homes & Family Services on January 1, 2017.
Given the similar histories and populations served, this has proven to be an excellent match for both organizations.
Recognizing Pacific Lodges long history of dedicated service dating back to 1923, Optimist will retain the name Pacific Lodge as a division of our agency. In addition, the Optimist Governing Board was expanded to include three seats for former Pacific Lodge board members.
