Update from Silvio Orlando
Chief Executive Officer,
Optimist Youth Homes & Family Services
Dear Optimist Youth Homes & Family Services Family of Supporters,
Given the recent local developments of COVID-19, I wanted to assure you that the health and well-being of our staff, children, families, volunteers, and visitors is our primary concern. We have been working closely with all health and public officials and government agencies to implement protocols and guidelines set forth to limit the spread of any contagious illness.
We have traditionally had many procedures in place concerning infectious diseases, and we are fortunate to have health offices staffed with medical professionals located on both campuses to address such concerns should the need arise.
We are cautious, aware, and committed to providing excellent care to the clients we serve, particularly the youth placed in our care. I am grateful to have a caring staff, dedicated leadership team, and the unwavering support of people like you. Our organization has implemented some temporary policies to assist in these unprecedented circumstances, including temporarily suspending volunteer and mentor sessions and limiting campus visitors to those who are considered essential.
I cannot express my gratitude enough. Stay safe, and should you have any questions or want to learn how you can support us during this nationally trying time, do not hesitate to reach out to Annie Nuttall, Chief Advancement and Communications Officer, by email or phone at 323-443-3023. I also encourage you to follow us on facebook and stay virtually connected.
Wishing you all the best of health.
